As teenagers, Silas & Tempest planned on being together forever. Forever turned out being until she & her con-artist parents disappeared. Seven years later, they are surprised to find themselves at the same event in Vegas. On their last night in town, they get reacquainted in her suite, both assuming it's a one time thing. Tempest doesn't know that Silas moved back to his hometown, she only discovers this while visiting her Nana (who happens to live in that same town). The two meet up in the town jail, where Tempest uses her alias to pose as his attorney. After Silas asks her to "pause" her current grifter lifestyle, she ends up staying three weeks. They do more digging into the alleged suicide of his mother and the suspicious land offers from a mining company, finding some evidence hidden by his mother. When one of Tempest's team members tracks her down, he offers some advice regarding Silas. The team then decided the target of their next grift, the corrupt officials of West Bend.
