I am kicking myself for waiting so long to read this book! This incredibly devastating & beautifully written book sucked me in and spit me out raw. Tenley is a survivor in the sense that she lost everyone she loved in a plane crash on the way to her destination wedding. She bears the scars from the fiery crash and carries the immense guilt of the losses. Hayden has spent seven years trying to come to terms with the murder of his parents. He had snuck out of the house to party that night and was the one who found them when he came home. His life spiraled out of control in a haze of drugs, booze & women until his close friends finally made him get clean. The four of them had opened a business together, Inked Armor. Tenley & Hayden lived & worked in close proximity to each other, but their mutual attraction didn't come to a head until he started to ink the back piece on her that she had designed. After that night, they spent most of their time together. Neither had shared much detail regarding their past turmoil, afraid to lose the overwhelming comfort they felt when being together. As pieces of their pasts came to light, cracks began to form in the armor they had built around themselves, until one night it all shattered.
